Why did we use lego?
We choose to make it using Lego because you can make a lot using Lego. It also gives us the ability to do a lot of tests by only changing small parts.
How does the lego part work?
The Lego part consists of a flat plate and multiple sliders. You can move a slider by rotating an axle that has the same color. The green slider moves in the x axis(left and right), the blue slider moves in the z axis(forward and backward) and the purple slider moves in the y axis(up and down). The pen connects to the purple part and moves using the sliders. Our idee was to attach distand sensors to the x and z sliders so we can mesure the position of the pen on the paper. We wanted to redesign the lego part so one slider isnt on top of the other but we didnt finish it in time. You can see a render of the Lego part below. Its designed in Studio 2.0.
